My Instagram feed is full of bold, beautiful women taking part in fitness photoshoots. Have you noticed it too? Photoshoots were once reserved for models and fitness professionals, but these days everyone is getting involved.
What better way to show yourself and others the weeks of gruelling hard work you’ve been through than with a photoshoot? But, be warned, it’s not as simple as buying the latest Gymshark two piece and smiling for the camera. A lot goes into preparing for a photoshoot, but the outcome makes the process worth it.
How to prepare for a fitness photoshoot
If you really want to get the most out of your photoshoot then you need to be 100% dedicated to your transformation leading up to it. This means being consistent in the 8-12 weeks beforehand in terms of your training, nutrition and mindset. If you don’t remain consistent throughout then you will not be stepping out on shoot day looking and feeling as confident as you could be.
Before the shoot, there are some different things you can do can do to enhance the look of your muscles, such as:
Plan your shots
Have your hair & make up styled professionally
Bring some sugary snacks to keep you energised
Have a spray tan if it makes you feel more confident
Avoid foods that cause bloating
What happens during a photoshoot?
During the day, you might be nervous, however, hopefully you should have a good photographer and even better trainer (me of course) to make you feel as comfortable as possible.
You will need to bring a few different outfits so that you can mix it up on the day and get a variety of shots. You also want to make sure that you feel comfortable in the outfits you’ve chosen. You are going to look incredible, and your outfit should highlight that.
On top of this, you should remember that a fitness shoot can be extremely exhausting. Not only is it a long process, but you will be lifting weights over and over again to get the perfect shot. Make sure you bring snacks and plenty of water with you so that you stay energised and don’t look fatigued.
