One thing to do in 2026

Once upon a time there was a girl with scoliosis (me) who had the worst back pain EVERRRRRR.

She spent hours daily foam rolling and stretching which quite frankly did fuck all.

This girl was already training for some years but every time she picked up weights, her back would spasm for rest of the day.

This lead her to frustration.

She looked for scoliosis brace and even considered drastic 8 hour spinal fusion surgery.

But then shiny armour came on his horse (Chris the Osteo) who saved her from years of pain and discomfort.

AND of course from being cut open.

Just by one tweak in her plan.

Breathing and working on her core strength.

I shit you not.

I thank this man and pilates for changing the way I train and how I breathe.

Because without it, there would be no curve coach only cripple coach.

-----------------------------

Last year I have sent you few emails about how I dislike HIIT etc etc.

Because you don't know what you are doing in those classes who are you kidding?

BUT what I didn't say is what you should do instead.

Of course weight training but also...

PILATES.

Because one can never have too strong core or pelvic floor.

90% of us breathe wrong.

You are NOT supposed to be breathing into your chest but your belly.

(Fun fact: babies breathe right but somewhere... years down the line things go wrong and we forget how to)

Belly breathing increases 'intra abdominal' bracing and pressure when you train and do every day tasks.

Protecting those fragile back muscles from straining and overworking.

Pilates teaches you just how to do that.

I hate insta trends, but this is a good one.

And no you won't get muscular from pilates, don't get me started. You need weights for that.

But combo of both and your body will feel FRESH.

So in 2026 I challenge you to make pilates part of your weekly routine.

Your body will really thank you for it.
